Rust build servers

Heat on a build server means players on the map, not resources or building speed. A server at 40 players is a place where someone will look over your shoulder; a server at 2 is a place to work alone. Both are useful, depending on what you want.

Build servers wipe on different schedules. Some reset every few hours, which clears anything you have built; others keep a map until the owner wipes it. Check the last wipe and next wipe columns before you start a design that takes more than one session. The population on a typical build server falls by about half over three days after a wipe, slower than a normal Rust server, so a test partner is not likely to vanish mid-build.

The table above shows the current population for each server and sorts by players by default. You can re-sort by next wipe to find a server that will reset soon, or by name to find a specific one. The search box matches server names and addresses only, so typing EU or solo finds servers with those words in their name, not every server in that region or with that group limit. For filters by region, group limit and wipe schedule, use the server browser.

Build servers are often tagged as modded because free resources and instant building change the game. That does not make them cheat servers; it is the correct category for any server that gives you tools you do not have on vanilla.
