These terms cover what Rust Heatmap provides and what to expect when you use it.
What the data is. Rust Heatmap reads server information from Steam's public Rust server list and from the servers themselves, and refreshes it every five minutes. A snapshot from that process is what you see. Servers can report a wipe late, publish a misleading name, or show a player count that lags. We aim for accuracy, but we do not guarantee it.
Browsing the site. You can read and compare servers without an account and without paying. Keep request rates reasonable; heavy automated fetching slows pages for other players. For a bulk copy of the data, write to hello@rustheatmap.org and we will discuss it.
Bots and crawlers. Search engines, AI crawlers and other bots may index the site. Check robots.txt and llms.txt first for what sits where, and keep your fetch rate low enough that ordinary visitors still get fast pages. Population, wipe and setting pages, such as the server list and the wipe schedules, refresh on the same five-minute cycle.
For server owners. A server appears here because it is on the public list. Its page shows what the server publishes: name, tags, wipe times, player slots and settings. To correct something, change it on the server; most edits reach us within five minutes. We do not accept edits made by hand.
Independence. Rust Heatmap is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios. Rust is a trademark of Facepunch Studios.
Changes to these terms. We may revise these terms at any time. The date below records the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
